Born in NYC and spending college years in Santa Barbara, California, Lisa Haddad now lives in Nashville, where she paints and collaborates with other artists. In 2012 she started the Nashville Collage Collective, an open community where members can experiment with mixed media techniques and share piles of communal materials at public gatherings. Lisa curates the group's exhibits in local venues, including The Green Gallery, which is dedicated to reuse artwork and education. She loves to work with found materials and often layers paint with weathered and altered papers that lend atmosphere to remembered or imagined places. Lisa has collaborated with other artists in the Nashville area, most recently with Eva Sochorova as "2 Painters 1 Canvas", and finds their unique side-by-side approach to be an enriching and humbling process

"Wired" canvas, found paper, acrylic, wire and wood on paper and board Our House, New Collaborations By The Four Corners opening March 2013 at the Sig Held Gallery, Nashville - An exhibit of 24 original pieces by Nashville's collaborative fine art group: The Four Corners was formed in 2010 when Lisa Haddad, Randy L. Purcell, Eva Sochorova and robert bruce scott began exchanging materials & works-in-progress. This hands-on collaboration has defined our process ever since: working on a piece without focus on the finished product; experiencing marks, papers, text that another collagist handled; sometimes shifting orientation from vertical to horizontal; ignoring worries about violating someone else’s work and then passing the piece along, knowing that our own additions might be changed or eliminated |
